Our last day...

January 4 was our last day in London...soo sad. We woke up and had a light breakfast because we had plans for a Dim Sum lunch in London's China Town. Jeff had never had Dim Sum so we were excited to share one of our favorte culinary experiences with him. Ashley picked a great place and the assortment of dumplings and small plates were delicious.

After Dim Sum we walked to Oxford Street to see if we could take advantage of some after Christmas sales at London favorites Top Shop, Miss Selfridges and Primark. The first two stores were too crowded for my shopping taste but Primark hit the spot and Ash and I both had success there.

After shopping we started our pub crawl home. On the way to the first pub we stopped at a street vendor to purchase some pub sign replica magnets-one from the Nags Head Pub we visited a few days earlier and one from the Drunken Duck just because we liked it. Ashley & Jason bought slightly larger ones that had to do with lawyers and accountants.

Our first pub stop was at Churchill Arms-a pub in Ashley & Jason's Notting Hill neighborhood. It is really lovely and is decorated with baskets and beer cans hanging from the ceiling and hanging baskest full of flowers on the outside. The bar inside was full of old English men which made me think this was a good place to be.

After our pints we headed closer to Ashley & Jason's flat to a pub called Portabello Gold. There the boys got London Pride pints and we opted for delicious fruit beer. A few bar nuts later and we walked back to Basing Street for a happy hour of wine, beer and the cheese from Borough Market followed by the ravioli and the tagliatelle with truffel oil. So Gourmet! After a game of trivial pursuit, we crashed in preparation for an early morning and a long day of travel. Sigh...
