Winter on the Water

This weekend our good friend Andy came into town to visit and go catfishing with Jeff on Saturday. He arrived on Friday night and we spent several hours chatting and catching up with him. On Saturday morning Jeff and Andy woke up at 6 and were out the door shortly after to meet up with one of Jeff's co-workers for a day of catfishing on the James river. Jeff's co-worker goes almost every weekend and Jeff and Andy have been trying to find a time to join him for awhile. They could not have picked a better day. The temperatures soared to a balmy 68 degrees and they caught several HUGE catfish. See photos below. Needless to say, I had two happy guys on my hands when they returned in the late afternoon. Jeff's co-workers told them the catfish they caught were probably over 20 years old.

I woke up fairly early myself on Saturday morning and went to Boot Camp, then came home and walked my antsy dog around the neighborhood. She needs exercise too. I spent the rest of the afternoon just relaxing and reading and enjoying the quiet. On Saturday night, Jeff, Andy and I went down to the fan for dinner and then came back to the house for beers and the Bud Shootout.

Today the weather is even nicer than yesterday so we woke up early again and took the dog for a hike and a swim on the North Bank Trail. We have never hiked this trail before but we loved it. The views of the river and the small beach areas are so nice. Ginger might have loved it more than we did. As soon as she had a clear shot of the water, she was in it. She retrieved a stick a couple of times and then decided to chase some geese. She swam, and swam, and swam and was halfway across the river before we started to get worried and call her back to shore. She is such a strong swimmer.

The Bridge Over to the River

After our hike, we came home and enjoyed lunch on the deck and now its VT bball time and then Sunday Yoga. Today I will try one of the Yoga classes OnDemand on TV.
Happy Weekend.

It looks like Jeff is feeding his catfish a bottle
