Late Tuesday afternoon, we decided we should partake in the fun going on in Richmond for St. Patty's today. We met at home and then drove back out near my office to Capital Ale for a quick dinner and a pint. Capital Ale was having a big fest in honor of the Irish holiday complete with a music tent, Irish food and drink specials. We were excited to get a table near the music and we each got a pint and shared a quick dinner. Just as we ordered our beers a bagpipe group came through the restaurant and played a little gig before the audience in the tent.
The specialty beer list was full of beers which of course we had never heard of so I selected a cider and Jeff went with a cream ale. For dinner we had some sort of a large beef and potato dish that seemed very Irish to me.
After dinner we entered the tent to finish our pints and were entertained by a contemporary Irish group of sorts. We were home by 7:30 so we immediately decided that sitting in our backyard in our pajamas by the fire pit for several hours of quality time was a perfect thing to do. Ginger loved it except for the fire which she is deathly afraid of.
Have I mentioned we are ready for spring?
