Fleming Fun: Hangin on the Block

After being on the road for the last several weekends, we decided it was time to stay home. On Friday after work, we just relaxed for several hours and unwound from the short week. Sometimes short weeks seem to be worse than regular ones. At 6:30pm, after several text messages back and forth, Cortney and I had made a plan to meet up at she and Clayton's house at 7 to go out to dinner and then make our way to the Greek Festival. We dined at Delux in the Fan and then spent the rest of the evening with a Greek dessert sampler and two bottles of Greek wine at the popular, annual festival on Malvern. We listened to great Greek music, watched some dance performances and had some good laughs.

On Saturday morning, Jeff was up super early for a drive to Fort Lee to pick up some free metal siding to use on the trailer. I woke when he did and went for a run around the hood. I went half solo and half with the pup because she needs exercise too. When I returned I hit up Kroger for potato salad ingredients to take to our street block party that afternoon. A family a few houses down hosted a block party so all the neighbors could get to know each other. A lot of new people have moved onto our street in the past year so we were looking forward to meeting everyone who lives around us. We were probably the youngest couple there and the only ones who brought beer but we really enjoyed meeting everyone and ended up staying for the whole fiesta. We had a good laugh at the number of questions Jeff got about the trailer. Seems there has been lots of chatter amongst the neighbors since we brought it home

On Saturday evening, we just chilled out. We made homemade pizza and chilled on the deck just chatting and reading and listening to music. Before bed, we took the dog on an evening walk and then hit the hay early.

Today was spent piddling around the house. We are growing strawberries in our yard but our little birdy friends are eating them before we can. So a quick Internet perusal revealed that we need some netting. We purchased this netting at Home Depot and installed it this morning, Jeff worked on the trailer a bit, we did a massive amount of laundry, we brewed another batch of beer, I lounged about and read, we went to the grocery store, and we fixed a delicious seafood dinner.
