The second weekend in August brought us back down to Corolla to celebrate Chunk's completion of his Harbor Pilot apprenticeship. He is FINALLY an official Harbor Pilot. So exciting! We stayed up in Corolla and everyone else was down south so we spent Friday night visiting the Halstead's and then had dinner at Rundown Cafe in Kitty Hawk. Saturday was spent on the beach until the rain started so we grabbed barbecue sandwiches from Corolla Village Barbecue before lounging in the house for the rest of the afternoon. Our lifestyle is very go, go, go all the time so an afternoon on the couch listening to the rain is welcome every now and then. Saturday night brought us down to Kill Devil Hills for dinner with Jon Graham, Courtney and Chase Spence, Katie Spence and Chris Lee. Good times.
On Sunday, we headed back down to Kitty Hawk to spend the morning on the beach followed by burgers at Art's burgers before heading back to the RVA.
