Tough Tournament

On Friday at around 6pm, Cortney, Clayton, Jeff and I packed up the car and started out on our trek to Charlotte. We made a brief stop in South Hill at Bojangles for chicken and some "boo"berry biscuits and continued on. We got to Cortney's parents' house at around 11pm and went to bed shortly after. On Saturday morning, Mrs. Turner prepared a delicious breakfast feast with the best cheese grits north AND south of the mason dixon line. Then we were off to the Bobcats Arena to watch Virginia Tech almost beat Carolina. The game was soo close and my stomach was in knots. Clayton had to change locations due to extreme nervousness/superstition. Carolina clenched it in the end, but it was such a fun game to watch. Next was another close one between Duke and Clemson with Clemson winning. After the games, we enjoyed some delicous beers and pizza while witnessing a St. Patty's day pub crawl blackout.

After dinner we hit up some Charlotte bars and somehow managed to make it out until last call. But not before our lives were almost claimed by the homeless man emerging from Jeff's bucket shop.

Back at the Turner B&B, the boys enjoyed some more of the previously mentioned cheese grits and then it was black out time for all of us.

On Sunday morning after another delicious breakfast of homemade muffins, we hopped on the Linx to watch the final game of the tournament-Carolina v. Clemson. Most of the game was close and then Carolina broke away to win the ACC Champs title.

On the way home, we made a stop in Lexington for some delish barbeque at Jimmy Harvey's thanks to a suggestion from one of Cortney's college roommates. The barbeque was soo good and I think Jeff and I may plan to make an appearance at the Lexington Barbeque festival in October-assuming there is not a VT football game that weekend of course. Who's in?

How is that for a detailed recap of the weekend??

Oh yeah-how could I have forgotten about the cutest sports fan I have ever seen. She is an 80 year old woman who we kept running into. She is a huge Tarheel fan and her turtleneck was signed by the 1957 Carolina basketball team. She was with her son and she was having him take photos of her with lots of young men. So funny!
