Fleming Fun: Sun, Service and Sand

On Saturday morning we were up bright and early and on our way to Highland Park to volunteer for Rebuilding America. We, along with a group of Jeff's coworkers, spent our morning repairing an elderly couple's home. We did things they couldn't possibly do themselves. I spent my time staining their deck and clearing out a flower bed in the front of the house. Jeff cleaned out the gutters, helped stain the deck, cleared out some overgrown brush and mowed the lawn. We had a lot of fun doing good.

On Friday night, Danielle and Steve had invited us to Virginia Beach so when we were done with our volunteering, we hit the road to VA Beach to the Turtle Cay hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon in pool and in the sunshine. But first, I used some of our rain barrel water to refresh our garden and all of our plants to prepare them for the two days of 90 some degree weather.

On Saturday night we sat out on the patio of the hotel room with snacks and drinks and great friends. Danielle's friend Mason and her boyfriend Jason also hung out with us and we enjoyed a late dinner at Rudee's and feasted on fresh, delicious seafood.

We were staying with Scott and Amy so we made our way back to their house after dinner but were up early again on Sunday so we could take advantage of another beach day. We spent the rest of the day in the sunshine by the ocean and by the pool until we had to leave for our sweet nephew's 2nd birthday party at The Little Gym in Chesapeake.

James had a great party with 15 of his closest little friends. They did lots of running around, tumbling and banging on things.
