Last weekend after a long, tiring work week of 19 hour work days, Jeff and I departed the Richmond International Airport for sunny, warm central Florida for Danielle and Steve's wedding. We have been anticipating this day since they got engaged over the 4th of July in Corolla in 2009.
We flew to Orlando and rented a car to drive the hour to Lady Lake, FL home of Danielle's mom, Steve's mom and step-dad and the giant retirement village called The Villages. We pulled up to the hotel coincidentally just before Danielle arrived to drop off more welcome bags so we joined her and some of her family for lunch just next door and were excited to be met with buy one, get one free drinks. We spent the rest of the afternoon lounging in our room and by the pool before getting ready for the rehearsal over at Harbor Hills Country Club. The weather was perfect with pure sunshine and temperatures in the high 70s. The wedding location was absolutely gorgeous-they definitely picked the perfect spot. After the rehearsal, we headed over to another country club in The Villages for the outdoor rehearsal dinner. Donna and Skip did a wonderful job planning a great event and we were so excited to be a part of it. The food was delicious and we had so much fun getting to know some of Steve's groomsmen. Jeff and I were tasked with creating Danielle and Steve's rehearsal dinner slideshow and we hope they enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
The scene following the rehearsal dinner was one of pure debauchery and we had a blast. From the van ride from the country club to the bar to the old lady mackin (literally) on one unsuspecting groomsmen, we couldn't have had more fun. Limited photos from that night will not show up anywhere but our home computer because they are that incriminating.
Saturday morning came too early for obvious reasons but I was up and at em and over at Danielle's mom's house to join the bride and the rest of the girls to get our hair did and to primp for the ceremony. The day was nice and relaxing as we each had our appointments and then prepared to support Danielle on her big day. Unfortunately there was a fair amount of drama associated with the ceremony prep, BUT none of that mattered because Danielle looked STUNNING and the love she and Steve feel for each other was radiating from both of them.
The ceremony was gorgeous, perfect weather again, a steel drum band, creative blue and green accents everywhere, etc and the reception could not have been more fun.
