10 Year High School Reunion

This past weekend I went back to High Point for the first time in 6 years for my 10-year high school reunion.  It was great to go home and sort of comforting that everything in HP is relatively the same.  Thomasville, where I lived, is another story.  Everything is closed and out of business, there are weeds growing everywhere and everything just seemed faded.  It was quite sad and it made me realize that it is so great that Mom and Dad left when they did.

My high school put together a cocktail party at the String and Splinter for the classes of 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980 and 1975.  Olivia Rives Kiefer picked us up at our hotel so we could have a glass of wine and socialize at her house before heading off to the cocktail party.  It was so fun catching up with Olivia and meeting her husband David.  Sally Lynch met us at Olivia's and we all rode to the party together.

After the cocktail our class had a dinner at the High Point Country Club.  Out of our graduating class of 27, only 8 of us showed up for the reunion but we had fun anyway.  Dwon Clifton, Kellie Jones, Patrick Weede, Chris Davis, Rebecca Cochran Sharpe, Sally Lynch, Olivia Rives Kiefer and me were in attendance.  Dinner was fun and it was funny to reminisce about our high school years.  After dinner it was on to Liberty for drinks and more social time.  Margaret (Boyarizo) Qualls and her husband met us there and it was so great catching up with her.
