Fleming Fun: Arts in the Park

Last weekend Jeff, Chris and Clayton went turkey hunting on Jeff's grandparent's farm in Lexington. Danielle and Steve were also out of town so I watched little Bella for the weekend. While the boys were gone, Cortney and I awoke early on Saturday morning and went to help with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's annual Bandy Park Cleanup. Bandy Park is just up the road from us and doubles as an unofficial dog park. Ginger loves to play there and so does Cortney's dog Archie so we thought we would do a good deed and help with the cleanup. We spent our time removing oak ivy and wisteria from the park paths and trees. Both plants are predatory, spread and choke the trees.

We then spent the afternoon over at Byrd Park for Arts in the Park. There were hundreds of crafters there selling their goods. We enjoyed perusing each booth but neither of us purchased anything. Saturday was a scorcher so after Arts in the Park we went Bin 22 in Carytown for a late lunch and a glass of wine outside in the shade. It was a perfect afternoon. Jeff got home around 8 and we had a late dinner and limeades at Phil's.
