Becoming Shenandoans

This weekend we went camping and we loved. every. second. of. it.  We headed to Target, Walmart and Dick's on Friday night for some last minute supplies followed by somewhat of a date considering we hadn't seen each other in a week.  On Saturday morning we were up early and on the road to Charlottesville to pick up Danielle and Steve for a weekend in the Shenandoah National Forest.

We started the trip out at the campsite as we got our tents set up and our supplies organized and then we set off for the Riprap trail, which was a 3.5 mile loop.  The hike was great and was just strenuous enough to make us feel like we got a good workout.  The dogs loved it too.  

We then returned to our campsite for a night of eating, drinking and chatting by the fire.  We grilled burgers, dogs, grilled cheese, and we popped jiffy pop and made smores.  It was perfect.  

This morning we woke up and Jeff made our traditional camper's breakfast before we packed up and headed back to Charlottesville.  After a quick shower and change, we ventured out to Veritas Vineyard to pick up our quarterly wine club wine allotment and then on to Star Hill Brewery for a tasting of their beers and a new growler purchase to add to our collection.

We plan to become season pass holders of the Shenandoah National Forest and we are very much looking forward to more trips there in the near future.  Danielle and Steve-we had so much fun!  Let's do it again soon.
