Fleming Fun: Spring Has Arrived

This weekend spring is officially here. On Friday night we hung out at home and then Saturday morning we got up and rode our bikes around the hood admiring all the awesome flowers that have bloomed. We went from our house, across Patterson around the right side of Patterson, over to the U of R pond and then back.

After our ride, we got ready and then headed back down to Suffolk for the Suffolk Chili and Bbbq Festival. It was all you can drink and eat with music and activities for the kids. The event is a fundraiser for Sertoma, a men's service club of which Paul is a member. We rode bikes over from Scott & Amy's house and spent the day in the sun. It was fun to be with all the kiddies again and spend some time in the fresh air.

After the festival, Jeff and I were back on the road and we dined at he Crab Shack at the end of the James River Bridge, stopped at an extremely crowded Sweet Frog in Newport News and finally arrived home a little after 10. We hit the hay immediately and slept in this morning. Ahhh.

Today we ate pancakes, I went for a run, we visited Southern States to get supplies to plant our garden, planted our garden, brewed beer, trained the hops Jeff planted to the vine and cleaned the house. It is so gorgeous outside.

In our garden this year are tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, stevia, basil and mint.
