This past weekend was the weekend of bride-to-be Miss Elizabeth Townes. We (her bridesmaids) threw a shower and bachelorette party for her up in NJ/NYC. On Friday, Jenny and I headed up to Lizzy's parents house in NJ to complete last minute preparations for the shower. The rest of the girls came up Friday night and stayed with Lizzy's sister-in-law and brother at their house just a few miles down the road. We wanted Lizzy to be surprised on Saturday morning so we kept her out of her parent's house until the last minute. On Friday night, Jenny and I spent some nice time with Lizzy's and Dan's parents.
Saturday morning was the shower. We did a broadway/nyc theme to focus on Lizzy's love for both. We had her dad prepare his famous french toast that Lizzy just loves and had bagels, fruit salad, quiche, orange, and cranberry mimosas.
After the shower, we took the train into the meatpacking district of NYC. Due to some crucial connections, we were able to stay at The Gansevoort Hotel for a reasonable price. We had the bachelorette preparty in our room at the hotel and played some games and watched Lizzy open some lovely items for her honeymoon and beyond. After the preparty we headed out to a club called Marquee and danced the night away while enjoying table service.
I think Lizzy had a great time and thanks to all of Lizzy's bridesmaids for ensuring that the weekend was a huge success. Now I am SO excited for Lizzy's wedding weekend to be here!!
