Tonight we purchased our Christmas tree. Historically we have chopped down our own tree, but with our schedule over the next few weeks, there is no way we will make it to a tree farm before dark. Tonight we drove around the corner to the West End Jaycees Christmas tree lot and picked out the perfect tree leaning up against a post.
Tonight was a great night: I decorated the tree with seasonal tunes playing on the TV and Jeff prepared venison sausage risotto, a recipe from my mom.

We're disappointed that we won't be cutting down our tree this year, too. Our favorite lot is over an hour away, and our weekends are so busy. Hoping to find one at a local garden shop tomorrow night!
